We are excited to welcome you to the digital home of the Katy Area Alumnae Chapter (KAAC) of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated!
As one of the newer Chapters in the Sorority and newer organizations in the Katy Area, we are proud to continue the legacy of service and sisterhood that began with the founding of our beloved Sorority in 1913. What started from a nucleus of 22 college educated women on the campus of Howard University has evolved into a private, not-for-profit organization with more than 300,000 initiated members and over 1000 Chapters whose purpose is to provide assistance and support through established programs in local communities throughout the world. These programs align with our Sorority’s 5 Point Programmatic Thrust which includes:

International Awareness and Involvement
Physical and Mental Health
Political Awareness and Involvement

Motivated to make a difference in the communities in which we work and live, 57 dynamic and determined members from throughout the Katy area came together to charter KAAC on June 14, 2020 in the midst of a global pandemic. Undeterred by the obstacles presented by the pandemic, our Chapter embraced the theme ‘Planting deep roots, cultivating Katy Area connections, growing in Service and Sisterhood’ to launch award winning programs in the virtual space for members of the Katy community.

 

Having transitioned from the virtual space to in-person programming, KAAC will continue to provide innovative and engaging activities that meet the needs of the Katy Area community. During our second biennium, our programs will exemplify this year’s theme ‘It Takes 2’ as KAAC continues to establish
